Baby Thomas is almost six (!) months old already! High time to update his toy collection with some fun and exciting new activities I found on AliExpress!
Highchair entertainment
Once your baby is able to sit with support it’s fun to have them join you at the table during mealtimes. It’s great for them to watch and learn but they may get bored with just observing after a few minutes. So you hand them a few toys to play with. That’s all great fun, especially once baby learns to throw said toys on the floor and discovers their humans will pick up and hand them those toys. Trust me, it grows old very quickly 😅
Luckily there’s a solution! This suction baby toy will firmly attach to the highchair and let me tell you, that little sucker sticks on GOOD! I was able to lift up the entire chair by it! The toy itself has a few rattles, it twirls around and makes a very tolerable amount of noise. It’s been used for a week now and has not been thrown on the ground even once. I call that a great success!
Master Builder
We are a Lego-family. And while it’s still too early to get Thomas started on Duplo, you can’t start ’em young enough with the building blocks. So I ordered these soft silicone stacking blocks. They are absolutely beautiful to look at, soft and squishy (comparable to bath toys, they even make a little squishy sound when you push on them) and filled with sensory discoveries. Each side of every block has a different design and different textures for them to discover. One side is dedicated to numbers as well, which even my 5 year old still finds entertaining. Matching the different shapes on the blocks allows you to make a sturdy 12 block tall tower.
For now Thomas is satisfied trying to eat his new blocks or destroying any and all other structures built with them. Developing exactly according to plan!
The Reader
Final items in my baby toys review today are these soft and colorful baby books. I am thoroughly impressed with these, especially the dinosaur one. It has actual dinosaur names in it, for example the diplodocus and stegosaurus. The dinosaur and jungle books are made of a soft, silky type material while the kitty tails book is made of a sturdier and thick cotton. Both books make some crinckly sounds as well.
Most interesting part for baby Thomas right now are the colorful and textured tails, making these cloth baby books a sensory journey as well. This mama especially loves how easy these are to take along, I have one stuffed in my purse at all times for on the go entertainment when needed.
